Abstract

This study estimates the impacts of pandemic uncertainty on environmental quality in the United States (U.S.). To do so, we introduce a pandemic uncertainty dataset from 1985 to 2021 that will be helpful for a single country, a group of countries, and firm-level analyses. Our baseline models confirm that pandemic uncertainty improves environmental quality, however, it reduces labour force participation. In addition, the income level helps to improve environmental quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
