Abstract

This paper addresses a novel chaotic system with multistability and amplitude control. The noticeable characteristic of this system is that the complex dynamics are stimulated by one unstable equilibrium. Under diverse parameters, the double-scroll attractor can symmetrically rupture into different coexisting attractors, which are discussed via coexisting bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponents and phase plane projections. Total amplitude control is also numerically investigated, especially one with a large adjustable range. The outcomes gained by a circuit implementation are highly matched with numerical analysis, verifying the physical practicability of the proposed system. Moreover, an encryption algorithm derived from this system is designed, which is toward remote sensing images and numerically demonstrated via performance tests. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
