Abstract
- A report from Flinders University in Australia suggests that the Australian Medicare Better Access initiative, which provides interventions for mild-to-moderate anxiety and depression, has not improved the overall mental health of the population. The study found that mild anxiety and depressive symptoms were more likely to worsen than improve with Better Access psychotherapy, while severe conditions were more likely to improve. The researchers suggest that similar initiatives worldwide should consider targeting more cost-effective treatments towards severe and complex conditions. [Extracted from the article]
