In my paper, I attempt to investigate Dimitrie Cantemir’s view on science as we may find it in his Sacrosanctae.... I argue that he believes that only knowledge revealed in the form of charity provides access to the transcendent; to understand the actuality of Cantemir’s views, I place them in the context of the beginning of the modern science and the continuation of the Aristotelian tradition in southeastern Europe.
