Abstract
- A recent study conducted by the Public Health Foundation of India aimed to validate genetic variants associated with lipid levels among the North Indian population. The researchers examined the association between 12 genetic variants and various lipid levels among 2,117 rural and urban Indian participants. They found that certain genetic variants were associated with elevated triglyceride and VLDL-C levels, higher total cholesterol and LDL-C levels, and lower HDL-C levels. The study confirms the role of these genetic variants in lipid traits among Indians and suggests the need for similar studies in different populations to validate these findings.
