Abstract

A study conducted by researchers from Nanjing University of Science and Technology in China focuses on modeling and controlling the spread of diseases through an epidemic network system. The researchers developed a novel heterogeneous annealed network model to describe disease transmission. They analyzed the basic reproduction number, stability of equilibria, and conditions for the variation of the reproduction number with the incubation period and exposure transmission intensity. The study also considered the dynamic of vaccination networks and proposed an optimal control strategy. The research concluded that optimized control measures minimize the number of infections and achieve better control effects compared to perfect immunization measures. [Extracted from the article]
