Abstract

The need for food is rising since the world's population is expanding quickly. As a result, conventional agriculture will be unable to meet the needs of the crops. With the rapid advancement of agricultural technology, the Internet of Things has emerged as one of the most vital components of modern information technology that makes farming systems possible. This paper aims to review the contributions of the Internet of Things to agricultural systems that are key to the current and future growth of agriculture. The contribution of the Internet of Things to agricultural systems has been examined from various sources of data. Today, farm households use the Internet of Things for a variety of farming operations. Results from earlier studies demonstrate that Internet of Things-based agricultural systems can offer greater precision for choosing the right course of action for a farm's environment. In general, the goal of this review paper is to introduce readers to new research prospects, specifically possible contributions, and difficulties related to the application of Internet of Things technology in agricultural systems.
