Abstract
- A recent report from National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado discusses the findings on atopic dermatitis (AD), which is the most common chronic inflammatory skin disease. The report highlights that skin barrier dysfunction is the main cause of AD and is influenced by genetic mutations, immune pathway activation, altered host defense mechanisms, and environmental factors. The research suggests that understanding the mechanisms behind skin barrier dysfunction can lead to the development of new treatments for AD. The report has been peer-reviewed and can be found in The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology In Practice. [Extracted from the article]
