Abstract

A research study conducted at the Medical University of Lublin in Poland developed an analytical procedure for determining the levels of zinc (Zn) in human blood. The study used the response surface methodology (RSM) to establish the optimal operational settings for the ICP-OES method, taking into account spectral and chemical interferences. The study also analyzed the effectiveness of two wet decomposition methods and found that calibration with the matrix of most abundant elements provided high-accuracy determination. The methodology was validated using certified material and real blood samples. This research was published in the Journal of Elementology and was financially supported by the Medical University of Lublin. [Extracted from the article]
