Abstract

Due to the increasing population growth and widespread pollution of water sources, the demand for drinking water is constantly increasing. Solar desalination is a promising solution to the problem of water scarcity. Solar distillation technology is an affordable and viable way to turn brackish seawater into drinkable water. Conventional solar energy efficiency and distillation yield are still below par. Many researchers have improved the acting of solar energy by modifying solar energy designs. The principal evenhanded this research is to review the improvement of the production of solar stills through modifications in the designs of their integration with additional heat sources, such as condensers, reflective mirrors, latent heat storage, sensible heat storage, wicking cloth, and use of nanomaterials.
