Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University in China explored the changes in the white matter functional network in children with idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE). The researchers used resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and T-weighted images to analyze the topological characteristics of the network. They found that the WM functional network exhibited increased assortativity at the network level and nodal disturbances at the nodal level. These changes were associated with cognitive function and may serve as potential biomarkers for IGE. The study provides valuable insights into the pathogenesis of IGE and suggests the potential clinical utility of the WM functional network in classifying the disease. [Extracted from the article]
