Abstract

A study conducted at the Government Medical College in Kerala, India, examined the effectiveness of corneal collagen cross-linking with riboflavin (C3R) in patients with keratoconus. Keratoconus is a progressive corneal thinning disease that can lead to irregular astigmatism and decreased vision. The study found that C3R was successful in improving visual acuity, reducing astigmatism, and stabilizing the progression of keratoconus. The researchers concluded that C3R could potentially reduce the need for keratoplasty and prevent blindness in patients with keratoconus. [Extracted from the article]
