Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Durham, North Carolina, explored the neurocognitive dysfunction experienced by survivors of childhood Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). The study found that HL survivors demonstrated higher concentrations of markers of inflammation and oxidative stress compared to controls. These biomarkers were associated with worse neurocognitive outcomes, such as visuomotor processing speed, attention, memory, and executive function. The researchers concluded that inflammation and oxidative stress may be potential targets for future intervention trials to improve neurocognitive function in HL survivors.
