Abstract

Wild mushrooms are important in worldwide due to its importance in food and medicinal values. Mushrooms can be found in the year, generally in two distinct seasons. In the present study four different fungi were collected from the different regions of Himachal Pradesh. Tentative identification of wild mushrooms was done on the basis of macroscopic and microscopic features. Screening of ligninolytic enzyme activities were determined in four wild fungi Morchella sp., Ramaria sp. Helvella sp and Amanita sp. To investigate the activity of extracellular enzymes, cultures were incubated over a period of 20 days in nutrient rich medium (NRM) and (NPM) under static conditions. Enzymatic activity was varied with media and their incubation conditions. The results of the present study allow us to conclude that wild species of showed good production of ligninolytic enzymes.
