Abstract
- Nokia and Mavenir have successfully completed interoperability testing between their respective radio units, demonstrating the compatibility of their systems according to O-RAN Alliance specifications. This collaboration supports the deployment of multi-supplier Open RAN systems without compromising performance, energy efficiency, security, or resiliency. The global cellular IoT market is projected to grow from $8.3 billion in 2022 to $15.6 billion in 2028, with telecom operators expanding their net add connections and revenue. The major players in this market include China Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, and Deutsche Telekom, who are developing ecosystems with cloud providers, system integrators, and hardware manufacturers to test innovative solutions. Additionally, a study by Ericsson ConsumerLab reveals that Canadian 5G smartphone users are willing to pay a premium for a 5G plan that offers superior network performance, particularly in areas such as video streaming and gaming. Service providers should prioritize network optimizations, offer innovative service bundles, enhance 5G performance in key locations, and explore differentiated monetization strategies to meet consumer expectations and boost loyalty.
