Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya, Turkey, aimed to evaluate potential jaw bone changes in children and adolescents diagnosed with Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). The study compared the jaw bone changes in the RHD group with a group of healthy children and adolescents. The researchers found that bone metabolism was affected unilaterally in the condyle region and bilaterally in the gonial region of patients with RHD. However, the cortical layer was not affected. This research provides valuable insights into the oral needs of individuals living with RHD. [Extracted from the article]
