Abstract

As a common antibiotic, tetracycline (TC) is extensively used in the prevention and treatment bacterial dis¬eases in animals and is also used as a feed additive to promote the growth of animals. In this paper, a fluorescence quenching method based on nitrogen doped carbon quantum dots (N-CQDs) derived from pineapple peel was established for the rapid detection of TC. The blue fluorescent N-CQDs with high quantum yield were prepared by the hydrothermal method using pineapple peel and diethylenetriamine as precursors. The structure of N-CQDs was characterized by trans¬mission electron microscope, fourier infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results showed that the average particle size of N-CQDs was about 3.53 nm, which was mainly composed of C, N and 0, and the surface has oxygen-containing and nitrogen-containing groups. The fluorescence of N-CQDs was effectively quenched by static quenching and internal filtering effect. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the method had good linearity within 0.3-40 g/mL, and the detection limit was calculated to be 89.26 g/L. Moreover, the detection method has been applied to the determination of TC in pork, the recovery rate was 98.40%-106.02%. The results showed that the detection method could be applied to the rapid determination of TC in pork. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
