Abstract
- Foreign inflows into India's sovereign bond market are nearing $10 billion as the country prepares to be included in JPMorgan Chase & Co's emerging markets debt index. Investments into index-eligible bonds have increased by $9.8 billion since the announcement in September, with the majority of purchases being in shorter-term bonds maturing between 2026 and 2030. Analysts predict that rupee sovereign bonds will continue to gain value due to strong foreign inflows. Bloomberg Index Services Ltd. will also include some India bonds in its emerging market local currency index next year. [Extracted from the article]
