Abstract

A study conducted at Menoufia University in Egypt examined the levels of serum endocan, asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), and lipid profiles in children with Familial Mediterranean Fever (FMF) during the attack-free period. The researchers found that FMF patients had significantly higher levels of serum endocan, ADMA, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides, and certain atherogenic indices compared to healthy controls. The study suggests that serum ADMA and lipid profile could potentially serve as markers for endothelial dysfunction and increased cardiovascular risk in FMF patients. This research provides valuable insights into the understanding of FMF and its associated risks. [Extracted from the article]
