Abstract
- This article discusses the importance of knowing when to increase or decrease the pressure on a fish during a battle. It emphasizes the need to set the drag correctly before leaving the dock and to regularly check the condition of the tackle. The article advises anglers to back off the drag when a fish initially takes a lot of line, and to increase the pressure once the angler is directly connected to the fish. It also suggests that applying heavy drag early in the fight can break the fish's will and result in a quicker catch or release. The author, Capt. Ricky Wheeler, has extensive experience in big-fish battles and offers these insights to help anglers succeed. [Extracted from the article]
