Abstract
- Crusoe Energy Systems, a flare gas computing firm, is expanding to Argentina with the help of climate finance firm Unblock. Crusoe will use waste gas from oil wells in Argentina's Vaca Muerta oilfield to power containerized data centers, which will perform tasks such as cryptomining, AI, and supercomputing. The process is aimed at reducing methane emissions and making fossil fuel exploitation appear greener. However, Crusoe is facing a patent infringement suit from Canadian firm Upstream Data.
