Abstract

A study published in the Archives of Dermatological Research examined the use of terminology on dermatology residency program websites to describe physicians and non-physician clinicians (NPCs). The study found that vague terms such as "provider," "practitioner," and "clinician" were commonly used, while more specific terms like "dermatologist" and "physician" were less prevalent. The researchers suggest that using precise language is important in recognizing the differences in expertise and training between physicians and NPCs. While there were limitations to the study, the findings highlight the need for increased education and awareness in using accurate terminology in healthcare settings. [Extracted from the article]
