Abstract

Xcel Energy, the largest utility in Colorado, has announced that it will be cutting power to approximately 55,000 customers in certain areas of the state due to high winds. The decision is being made to prevent power lines from toppling and potentially causing wildfires. The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for parts of the Denver area, with wind gusts expected to reach 90 miles per hour. Xcel Energy has previously been held partially responsible for wildfires in both Colorado and Texas. [Extracted from the article]
