Abstract
- The Australian government has released a draft National Autism Strategy, which aims to support autistic individuals at every stage of life. The strategy was co-designed after consultation with over 2,000 autistic people, families, carers, and researchers. However, there are concerns that the draft strategy may not address the most urgent challenges facing autistic Australians, such as poor life outcomes, high rates of suicide, and physical and sexual abuse. The strategy is open for public feedback until the end of May, and there is a need for a coordinated approach involving all levels of government to address these issues. [Extracted from the article]
