Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers from Lebanese University focused on histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis, specifically Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD). The study presented a rare case report of a 22-year-old female patient who experienced a flare-up of leukocytoclastic vasculitis, which was complicated by the appearance of a cervical lymph node with dysphagia, fever, and nausea. The patient was diagnosed with histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis and showed improvement with intravenous corticosteroids. The study emphasizes the importance of considering KFD in patients with autoimmune or inflammatory diseases who develop lymphadenopathies. [Extracted from the article]
