Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Tokyo, Japan compared two treatment methods for symptomatic hepatic cysts: endoscopic ultrasound-guided drainage and percutaneous drainage combined with minocycline sclerotherapy. The study found that both methods were successful in achieving technical and clinical success without any reported adverse events. However, the endoscopic ultrasound-guided drainage group had a higher median reduction rate of cyst diameter and a shorter hospital stay compared to the percutaneous drainage group. The study suggests that endoscopic ultrasound-guided drainage is a safe and effective alternative for treating symptomatic hepatic cysts. [Extracted from the article]
