Abstract

A study conducted at University Hospital Kralovske Vinohrady in Prague, Czech Republic, has found that deep sclerectomy with fibrin adhesive can be a safe alternative to traditional sutures. The use of fibrin glue for wound closure in deep sclerectomy resulted in reduced intraocular pressure and glaucoma therapy, with no significant changes in visual acuity. The study suggests that this modification of the surgical technique may simplify the procedure, promote healing, and lower the risk of inflammation and fibrosis. Further research is needed to confirm these preliminary outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
