Abstract

A study conducted at the Federal University Sao Paulo in Brazil examined the effects of photobiomodulation on synovial morphology, gene expression, and protein expression in a model of acute inflammation. The study used female Wistar rats divided into three groups: control, sham (arthritis), and PBM (arthritis and photobiomodulation). The results showed that photobiomodulation reduced inflammation, upregulated iNOS gene expression, and downregulated protein expression compared to the sham group. This research provides insights into potential treatments for arthritis and highlights the benefits of photobiomodulation therapy. [Extracted from the article]
