Abstract

Researchers from Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University conducted a study comparing the efficacy of two bioactive dental composites, Beautifil Kids and Predicta Bioactive Bulk-Fill, with conventional dental composite in preventing demineralization while maintaining their mechanical and physical properties. The study found that Beautifil Kids had the highest flexural strength and elastic modulus, while Predicta demonstrated the highest increase in dentin surface microhardness. All groups showed clinically significant color changes after pH-cycling, with no significant differences between them. The researchers concluded that bioactive restorative materials with ion-releasing properties have excellent resistance to demineralization while maintaining comparable mechanical and physical properties to the control group.
