Abstract

A report from the University of Kebangsaan in Malaysia discusses the implementation of food safety regulations and their impact on food security in the country. The review paper collected and analyzed 16 research papers published between 2016 and 2023. The research found that factors such as high certification and renovation costs, language barriers, and lack of motivation and knowledge among small and medium enterprises contribute to a low number of businesses with food safety assurance certification. The study suggests that future research should focus on food fraud, food defense, and the stability of food resources to improve food safety and security in Malaysia. [Extracted from the article]
