Abstract
- A recent study examined the factors that contribute to fatigue in patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA). The researchers used data from the Danish Skin Cohort and found that joint pain and itch were major drivers of fatigue in these patients, rather than the severity of their skin condition. The study highlights the importance of a symptom-based approach when treating psoriasis, rather than solely focusing on objective measures of severity. However, the study had limitations, such as not being able to determine whether the pain was inflammatory or noninflammatory and lacking information about the use of methotrexate, which can cause fatigue.
