Abstract

This article presents a study on the usage patterns of antimicrobial agents in preventing surgical site infections (SSIs) at a hospital in Kerala, India. The study found that cephalosporins were the most commonly used antibiotics, and emphasized the importance of evaluating their appropriateness and potential resistance concerns. The findings align with global trends and highlight the need for tailored antimicrobial strategies to optimize patient care and minimize the risk of antimicrobial resistance.
