Abstract

Researchers at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan have conducted a study on cancer gene therapy for glioblastoma, a highly aggressive and difficult-to-treat form of brain cancer. The study focuses on the use of polydopamine nanoparticles coated with polyamidoamine dendrimers for the delivery of therapeutic RNA and doxorubicin, as well as for photothermal therapy. The results show that these nanocarriers effectively reduced the proliferation rate of glioblastoma cells, decreased the expression of a specific protein associated with tumor progression, and reduced the number of viable cells. This research offers a promising approach for the multimodal therapy of glioblastoma. [Extracted from the article]
