Abstract

In India almost 40 million liters of wastewater enters rivers and other water bodies each day without any proper monitoring or analysis methodology. The aim of the study is to design a low cost IoT based water quality monitoring and analysis system which will effectively analyze TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), turbidity, temperature parameters of water. These parameters, namely, temperature, TDS (Total Dissolved Solids), turbidity will determine the type of water, type of water treatment required and the level of fitness for consumption. The analyzed parameters are sent to the programmed mail. Different samples of water were taken during the study and the results for type of water, type of water treatment required, level of fitness for consumption were determined. The results were sent to a deployed webapp over Wi-Fi and the results are also stored in a SD card to prevent loss of analysis data. This study will enable an efficient and effective way of water quality monitoring and analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
