Abstract

This document discusses the challenges of achieving high-power quality in modern power grids with a large share of distributed power production, particularly due to the integration of renewable energy sources (RES). The variable nature of RES can lead to disturbances and power quality degradation. The document highlights the importance of voltage source converters and control systems in enabling the flexible operation of RES. It also mentions the concept of microgrids, which are closely connected to power quality and other factors such as the Internet of Things and cyber security. The document includes eight research papers covering various topics related to power quality analysis and control of renewable energy sources in power grids. These topics include power factor correction, supercapacitor parameters identification, pulse width modulation, disturbance analysis, vibration analysis of motors, control of converters, phasor measurement units, and optimization of controller parameters. The document concludes by expressing gratitude to the authors, staff, and reviewers involved in the research papers. [Extracted from the article]
