Abstract
- This document is an editorial titled "Psychosis in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC)" published in Frontiers in Psychiatry. The authors discuss the challenges and implications of psychosis in LMICs, emphasizing the importance of addressing the treatment gap and improving access to care. They also explore the role of negative symptoms and the potential benefits of clozapine in treating psychosis. The editorial presents five original research studies that cover topics such as heterogeneity in schizophrenia, prescribing patterns of clozapine, negative symptoms in China, and traditional healing practices in Asia and Africa. The findings highlight the need for person-centered approaches and the integration of traditional and clinical healthcare systems to improve the well-being of individuals with psychosis in LMICs. The authors call for further research and alignment with international clinical guidelines. [Extracted from the article]
