Abstract

This article discusses the use of resin nails to improve the cosmetic appearance and functionality of recalcitrant nail lichen planus (LP). LP is a chronic inflammatory disorder that affects the nails and can cause permanent and debilitating nail loss. The application of resin nails, which create a flexible nonporous nail, has been successful in improving cosmesis and functionality in patients with toenail LP. The resin nail can be customized to the patient's desired length and shape, and it typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks. Further studies are needed to determine the duration of resin nail application for fingernails. [Extracted from the article]
