Abstract

This article examines the impact of different types of tricuspid annuloplasty rings on right ventricular function in patients undergoing mitral valve surgery. The study included 109 patients who received either a three-dimensional rigid ring or a ring annuloplasty with flexible bands. The results showed that after 5 years of follow-up, the rigid ring annuloplasty was associated with lower incidence of tricuspid regurgitation and better right ventricular remodeling compared to the flexible band annuloplasty. These findings suggest that the choice of annuloplasty ring may have long-term implications for patient outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
