Abstract

In power system, problem like sudden increase in load demand, sudden dip in receiving end voltage profile would create operational challenges. It may be affecting the system stability on bigger picture. The investment over infrastructure is not advisable for every bit increase of load demand, owing to economic and time constraint. Therefore, Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) device could be helpful to eliminate these problems. In this paper, one of series FACTS device Static Synchronous Series Compensator used to improve of voltage stability, voltage profile of different buses and enhancement of available transfer capability. Indeed, a comparative study is also presented with and without Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) to analyze the voltage stability and available transfer capability in the transmission network. This work is carried out in MATLAB's Simulink. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
