Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Case Western Reserve University explored the link between prenatal cocaine exposure (PCE) and adult intelligence. The study used data from a longitudinal birth cohort study and found that physical and behavioral differences in infancy mediated the association between PCE and adult perceptual reasoning IQ. The researchers suggest that early identification of the effects of prenatal teratogens on infant behavior could lead to improved long-term outcomes and public health awareness. The study was published in JAMA Network Open and more information can be obtained from the researchers at Case Western Reserve University. [Extracted from the article]
