Abstract

The article aimed to analyze the discourse of the Palestinian lobby in the United States of America to engineer its audience using Facebook pages regarding the frames that are employed to frame its topics and issues based on framing theory. This study used content analysis for the study sample of 247 posts that were published on the main Facebook pages of the Palestinians during the second half of 2021. The study showed that the lobby's discourse focused on humanitarian, political, and legal issues, followed by academic and cultural ones. While most employed frames were the responsibility, the conflict, and the human concerns frame. The results showed that the Palestinian lobby structured its discourse to influence the subconscious mind of all categories of the American public using topics, terms, and symbols of information, tags, links, signs, text, images, and videos to convey its narrative. The lobby employed various persuasive methods, the most important of which is visual evidence, including images and videos, numbers and statistics, and laws and legislation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
