Abstract
- Since right from the beginning the Swedish magazine OEI (1999-) has been bridging scholarly and artistic practices within the framework of avant-garde studies and activities. Besides the introduction of past and contemporary texts from major and minor languages into Swedish, there is an increasing inclusion of unpublished manuscripts texts and images in OEI, often without much explanation. The purpose of this "archival activism" - increasingly operating on not only a Swedish but also a Nordic and international level - has been not to synthesise forgotten or unknown documents, but rather to assemble and thereby (re)activate a number of single texts - and to construct alternative historiographies. The issues of the magazine are often characterised by an overwhelming abundance of material, thereby resembling archives in themselves. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
