Abstract
- A recent systematic review and meta-analysis conducted by the Department of Midwifery examined the effect of maternal age on stillbirth in Africa. The study found that advanced maternal age (35 years and older) is a risk factor for stillbirth. The research included 14 articles and reported an overall odds ratio of 1.42 for advanced maternal age compared to the age group of 20-35 years. The authors recommend that health information communication regarding the risk of getting pregnant at advanced ages should be addressed to all women of reproductive age group.
