Abstract

A recent study conducted by investigators at Yale University School of Medicine examined the delivery management of patients with antepartum stillbirth. The researchers analyzed data from fetal death certificates and maternal hospital discharge records to identify a population-based sample of patients with singleton antepartum stillbirth. The study found that over one in six patients with antepartum stillbirth underwent cesarean delivery, and among patients who attempted labor, the rate of vaginal delivery was generally high. The researchers concluded that there may be an opportunity to increase vaginal delivery in this population. [Extracted from the article]
