Evaluation of National Curriculum of English Language Grades I-V in the Context of Life Skills Education.

Life skills education helps to bridge the gap between basic capabilities and functioning. It improves the ability of an individual to fulfill the demands and needs of the society and significantly strengthens the aptitude to handling with the problems and issues in a good manner to get desired practical behavior. The purpose of this study was to evaluation of the curriculum of English language grades I-V in the context of life skills education at primary schools in Pakistan from the perspective of the teachers involved. Five hundred (N=500) male and female teachers were selected from 100 primary schools on equal basis. The analysis revealed that life skills education was significant for students. Sub-themes were sufficient for students at primary level. On the basis of study the study the researcher recommended that life skills education should be included in the content of other subjects to meet the global needs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
