Abstract

A study conducted at Boston Children Hospital has examined the use of telepractice in delivering voice therapy to children diagnosed with vocal fold nodules, a common cause of chronic dysphonia in pediatric patients. The retrospective study included 23 children who completed therapy in a virtual format. The results showed that virtual voice therapy was feasible and effective, with significant improvements in perceptual severity scores and parental measures of quality of life. The researchers concluded that telehealth delivery of voice therapy could increase access to care and should be considered as a treatment option. [Extracted from the article]
