Abstract

The latest issue of IFLA Journal focuses on the various roles of libraries in today's world. The articles are divided into four categories: libraries as facilitators of knowledge dialogue and cultural exchange, the impact of technology on literacies, the challenges and opportunities facing libraries in the face of climate change and disasters, and fostering inclusivity and addressing the gender gap. The articles cover a range of topics, including the role of US libraries in international diplomacy, the preservation of indigenous knowledge, the impact of AI-generated content on critical thinking, disaster preparedness in libraries, and the gender gap in LIS doctoral research. The issue reflects the diversity of library contexts and practices worldwide, with contributions from authors based in different regions. [Extracted from the article]
