Abstract

Magnetotransport measurements in modulation doped n-(Cd,Mn)Te quantum wells reveal an expected square root dependence of the electronic exchange energy on magnetic field B. Tilted field experiments show that this exchange contribution depends on the tilt angle (θ). At the same time a parallel field suppresses the Ising easy axis anisotropy of the quantum Hall ferromagnet (QHFM). The QHFM spikes disappear in high electron density samples, however, they are clearly seen in a 2μm wide wire. © 2005 American Institute of Physics [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
