Abstract
- Researchers from the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom have developed a new database called MGEED (Multimodal Genuine Emotion and Expression Detection), which is the first publicly available database to contain facial optomyography (OMG) signals. The database consists of 17 subjects and includes over 150,000 facial images, 140,000 depth maps, and various physiological signals such as EEG and ECG. The researchers developed an emotion recognition method based on multimodal signal synchronization, feature extraction, fusion, and emotion prediction, and found that fusing visual, EEG, and OMG features resulted in superior performance. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing. [Extracted from the article]
