Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers from the University of Science and Technology of China, Southern Medical University, and Peking University has shown that early insulin therapy in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is associated with a significant reduction in the incidence of cardiovascular events. The study observed over 5,000 patients with T2DM over a 24-year period and found that those who received early insulin therapy had a 31% reduced incidence of stroke and a 28% reduction in hospitalization for heart failure. This research challenges the traditional step-by-step approach to diabetes treatment and suggests that early insulin therapy may have significant cardiovascular benefits.
